Gay men's leather bar - Hosts popular Backroom Night Plus and Beer-Busts for "San Diego Bulldogs" and Bears SD
Sheep's clothing won't be appropriate at this leather bar at the corner of
Upas and 30th in North Park. Serving beer with aggressive, throbbing music
to cruise by, this is a good place to visit if you like the color black.
It's on the walls, the ceiling and most of the patrons, most of whom are
gay men. The decor includes lots of things like chain link and corrugated
steel once you push past the heavy leather curtain at the front door.
It's also
a good place for a friendly game of pool at one of three tables in two
rooms. Wolfs gets a pretty big crowd on weekends, but the biggest draw is for
the twice-monthly Backroom Nights, where the back room is restricted to
those wearing leather, rubber, latex, uniforms, and those in underwear
and/or without shirts. Probably not the best place to take Gramdma to meet
your new friends.
To fit in, kindly observe the "strict" dress-code at
this and all other leather bars: don't douse yourself with cologne or
after-shave (it distracts from the smell of the leather.) And, don't wear
white, even before Labor Day.
