Folsom Street Fair Travel Tips |
Original message:
I would like to gather a list of the best hotels to check into for
the Folsom Street Fair/Leather Week in San Francisco, and then post
that list on the SDLLC website for everyone's benefit. Yes, I know
that it's awfully late to gather that information for THIS year's
event, but better late than never!
I'll need as much info as possible:

We are two guys from UK, and when in 'The City' always stay in the following hotel.
It is not advertised as a gay hotel, but is very gay friendly. and you can walk around in Leather, and chaps, with no problems.
There are always a few Leather Guys staying over, It's about 15 minutes walk, (5Mins Taxi) from Folsom, and the city centre.
24 hour front desk, and bus stop directly outside.
(I'm not real wild about this recommendation - It's AWFULLY far away from the Street Fair.)

I spoke to the staff at the AIDA hotel this morning and they have several
rooms open. The hotel is not glamorous, but in the $35/night range for a
shared bath arrangement, it is very inexpensive for San Francisco.
The AIDA is a tourist hotel, which means they require that guests posess either
a credit card or a passport to stay there. Since not everyone can stay
there, they usually have available rooms.
Better still, they are located near Market and 7th
street. This is easy walking-distance from both the Street Fair and the Mr S. store.
Close to the event, available, and affordable. What a combination!
Their phone number is 1-800-863-AIDA.

It's across from the Bear Store. Last
year we overlooked the Lone Star patio from our balcony. It's a great
loacation. We made our res. the first week of Jan. I know many other
people are staying at that hotel from San Diego.
