EVENT UPDATES

The August 15th Men's Discussion is CANCELED, in honor of the Kink Crusaders Movie Night (organized in our honor), which will feature a GEAR CONTEST, and a talk by the movie's director. Let's JAM the theater!

This weekend features the Up Your Alley (formerly "Dore Alley") Street Fair, and if you're going, I advise stopping by Stompers Boots for their all-day Boot Party behind the store. It's a wonderful place to be! Here are some up-to-date tips for attendees.

There is a new, major event on August 18th: FLOG FEST in Long Beach. For the first time ever, legendary Flogging Tops from all over Southern California are gathered under one roof to demonstrate, teach and THRILL. A new annual event. I'm tracking down lodging for San Diegans who want to attend.

The 6th annual Kinky Swap Meet is in one week on Friday, so get ready for some cost-effective gear-swapping! Dizzy picked up a great harness for $15 last year.

The folks with Palm Springs Leather Pride (second week in November every year) are starting to pump out the publicity.

CIGARS AND BOOTS

Aaron Duke will be hosting the Cigars and Boots event on a monthly basis soon. Please stay tuned for more details. We are looking to change the location and time, so all you HOT ASH MEN come out and have a drink and a smoke with our new host, Aaron.

AIDS WALK & RUN SAN DIEGO 2012

Aaron Duke will be putting together a team for the AIDS Walk & Run 2012. In order to provide an inclusive environment for our diverse community, we will be participating in the walk. The walk is scheduled for Sunday, September 30, 2012. Registration begins at 6 AM, Opening Ceremonies at 7 AM, and the Walk at 8:15 AM. The actual walk takes one and half to two hours to complete and is 3.1 miles.

“Through a unique funding partnership with the San Diego HIV Funding Collaborative, AIDS Walk & Run San Diego is able to increase the impact of dollars raised at the event. Since 1989, AIDS Walk San Diego has raised more than $7.5 million. In partnership with the San Diego Finding Collaborative, last year over $500,000 was distributed to 10 outstanding community-based HIV/AIDS service organizations in the San Diego Region.”
