2011-04-06 FMSD Upcoming Events

We have three events to look forward to this week, now that SD Leather Pride is done for the year;  Puppy Night on Wednesday, FMSD's DRESS IT UP/STRIP IT DOWN on Friday, and Anthony's IML fundraiser on Saturday (details below). 

We're currently at 916 members, and I'd be very surprised if we don't add at least 35 more by Sunday. People are joining as fast as they can, because it's plain to see that something special is happening, and everybody wants to be on a winning team.

Let's review RULE #1 for all FMSD events: Let's all be nice to the the newest guys.  It's natural to us as humans, to want to greet our buddies and spend happy time with them, but the new, shy faces among us are crucial and valuable too. Make the assumption that the new guys have something desirable to contribute, and take on some "Julie Cruise Director" duties for a while. This is precisely why our events are so danged joyful and friendly… Everybody is warm, welcoming and happy. Who wouldn't want to fit in and be part of that Tribal Vibe?

I'm hearing some incredibly positive things about the BEARS DANCE at Numbers each month, and I'm asking for reviews (good or bad) to be sent back to me at FetishMenSanDiego @ gmail.com - It helps others decide whether they want to attend, and may possibly help the organizers plan for bigger crowds.

Wednesday, April 6, 9PM: PUPPY NIGHT at the Eagle, hosted by Pup DragZ and San Diego Puppy Play (SDPP). First Wednesday of each month.

April 8-10; Leather Leadership Conference in Los Angeles

Friday, April 8, 9PM-1AM: DRESS IT UP/STRIP IT DOWN at the Eagle. This has become the biggest fetishmen event in San Diego every month!  Approximately 300 men come cycling through the bar during the course of this event on the second Friday of each month, and many of us are dressed (or undressed) to impress!  Here are a few reviews, if you haven't been to one yet. This month's theme is FULL LEATHER. If you've got it, we really want to see it. Before much longer, it'll be too hot to get fully layered up! Here are some pictures from October, February and March. Notice how HAPPY everybody is. You deserve to be that happy too.

Saturday, April 9; 4-7PM: Anthony's IML Fundraiser/Cigar Social at Bourbon Street. 

April 16-17; Phoenix Pride

April 21, 8-11PM; Yellow Hanky Night at the Eagle. Third Thursday of each month.

April 28-May 2nd; Phoenix Phurfest 2011

Sunday, May 1, 5-8PM: CIGARS & BOOTS at Redwing, hosted by California LeatherSir Miles B. First Sunday of each month, out on the patio at Redwing. Unbelievably congenial crowd… Like nothing you've ever seen. The perfect Gentlemen's Club vibe. You'd think these men have been best friends for decades, and there's room for more, so come on over and mingle freely…

Friday, May 6, 7PM: SDLOG monthly educational meeting: ELECTRIC PLAY

Saturday, May 7, 9PM-2AM; BearNight Dance at Numbers. $5 cover. First Saturday of each month. Lots of leathermen attend this event…

May 21-22; Long Beach Pride

May 27 - May 30; International Mr. Leather 2011 weekend in Chicago.

June 10-12; Los Angeles Pride

June 17-19; California Leather Sir/boy,  Bootblack and Puppy Contest. 

June 25-26; San Francisco Pride

July 15-17, San Diego Pride 

July 28-30; International Leather Sir/boy/Community Boot Black in San Francisco, leading into...

July 31; Dore Alley/Up Your Alley Street Fair

Aug. 5-7; International Olympus Leather & Pantheon Awards- Los Angeles

August looks pretty open, but September includes Vegas Pride and Folsom Street Fair. Then, Palm Springs Pride is followed by Palm Springs Leather Pride in November.
