Here are the winners of the Mr. Bear and Bear Cub San Diego 2000 Contest - On the left, Rich LaClair-Zoehrer (Mr. Bear San Diego 2000) and Jonathan Hewlett (Mr. Bear Cub San Diego 2000).
Rich is the Director of a Research machine Shop for the University of California, San Diego. He has been on the University's Chancellor's advisory committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issue, working on getting a domestic partner's benefits and a center on campus. We now have both. He likes to do abstract art, travel, go to Bears events and just see the world.
Jonathan comes from Carson City, Nevada, where he first realized that he likes Bears. Finding none there, he moved to sunny San Diego, where he joined the Golden State gay Rodeo Association and then the Bears San Diego club. He also dances at Kickers on Thursday nights. Jonathan loves to play softball and card games. He loves two-stepping, waltzing and line-dancing. He is just a Country Bear at heart.
