BULC is Coming Back, (Sort Of)!

Starting Friday, February 5, 1999, the good old days of leathermen dancing every week to hot, hot music are coming back, and not a minute too soon. In the old days, there was a hot dance-club called "BULC" (CLUB spelled backward) where we leathermen spent many a happy time. Those days have passed, but the owner of Shooterz has announced RAMPART, a dance-party every Friday night that brings back the same DJ's, the music that we love to dance to, and no cover charge if you're wearing full leather! Shooterz is right around the corner from the Eagle at 3815 30th Avenue, so it's quite convenient. I'll be first in line!

Leather Dance Party Every Week

I'm very, very pleased with the word that I'm getting from the staff and DJ's at Shooterz - The big fun starts February 12, 1999, rather than February 5th, as I mistakenly mentioned before. The music that will be played there on their dance-floor every Friday night from 9PM-2AM will be hardcore, sexy, non-techno, groovin' music with divas and actual lyrics. In other words, they are bringing back the Good Old Days of sweating, happy, hot leathermen getting the equivalent of sex through the eardrums, and hitting a groove and staying there. There will be no Techno, and no pots-and-pans experimental noise with two words repeated forever... I don't take enough drugs to enjoy that crap! To make sure that the music is hot, they've brought back TWO of the DJ's from Bulc, and they will be spinning a joyful mix of current, popular music with a healthy sprinkling of good old stuff that actually appeals to gay leathermen. For men in full leather and fetish-gear, there will be no cover charge. There's a huge market of local Baby-Boomers that hasn't been taken care of properly since Bulc shut down years ago, and we're way overdue for some of those good times again!

Once again, I'm hyping my favorite weekly event - Dancing on Fridays at Shooterz, starting at 10:30PM. I'm the unpaid, unofficial host of this event, so you know that you're going to be welcomed (and probably hugged) when you show up. If you have felt like you didn't fit in at other dance-parties for any reason, you'll LOVE it here... folks on the dance-floor show a lot of teeth from smiling so much! The music is from 1975 onward, and DJ Tony Diaz will gladly play your requests.

On the second Friday of each month, it's Heavy Testosterone Night - we're inviting Gay Leathermen Only (GLO), Rubber Knights, Waterboys and Red Hankies to come out and shake their butts to divas singing like it's the 70's and early 80's all over again.

On the fourth Friday, it's a Pansexual Extravaganza, with Club X, San Diego Lifestylers and the San Diego SM Socialites joining the usual dance-addicts for fun and frolic. Join us on any Friday and dance your cares away!
