Post-Event Report Sporting a record attendance in excess of 330 pool side visitors, Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert is proud to announce Mr. Barracks 2003, Don Mentink, has secured Palm Springs' newest community leader position as Mr. Palm Springs Leather 2003. Don earned his title through a rigorous interview and stage performances before a supportive audience at the MPSL 2003 contest Saturday night, the 9th of November 2002, held at the Desert Palms Inn in Cathedral City. First runner up, Lawson Bryan, provided good competition with an outstanding presentation and eloquent quick humor. Also competing at the deserts traditional pool side venue under the stars were PSLOD Vice President Jack Banaszynski, Mr. Tool Shed 2003 Dennis Cramer, Neil Ryan, Jim Morrison and Kim Parker. PSOLD would like to express much gratitude to all of our fine contestants for their support and participation. Special thanks go to Southwest Drummer 99, David R. Sellon II who did a spectacular job as Master of Ceremonies. Despite the moderate winds and the forecast of rain David's stellar performance kept the event moving and the guests entertained. Mr. Palm Springs Leather 2002, Robert Farrell, gave a wonderful step down speech recognizing key people in the local leather community and committing to be a key supporter for all future title holders. In addition, International Leather Sir 2002, Dale Breunig, spoke of the gift of human insight and urging the event guest to be courageous and identify, nurture and support the future members of the rising leather community. PSLOD president, Walter Seiler, presented Chris Rees of the Tool Shed with an appreciation plaque for all his support of PSLOD events and activities through out the years. Also recognizing ILS 2002 Dale Breunig for his continuing efforts as Palm Springs Leather Pride's Event Director for the past four years of community service.
