Mr. San Diego Leather Victory BrunchPhotos by Papa Tony2/27/2000 |
This establishment is owned by the same folks who own the Hole in Point Loma, and they rolled out the red carpet for us. The other diners at this high-class establishment occasionally cast sidelong glances at the gay leathermen laughing and hugging at our end of the dining-room, and it was an incredible, generous and open-hearted gesture for the staff and owners to treat us like any of their other valued patrons. We were first-class customers at all times, and the food and service reflected this attitude.
There was a choice of two entrees for our group, and either one would have been a fine choice - I got to sample both. The prime rib was so tender that many folks were commenting as they used their butter-knives to slice it. The salmon was PERFECTLY prepared, tender, and right in that zone of perfection of not being over- or under-cooked.
The servers were attentive and chatty, and the group was able to have a carefree, jolly and successful event.
This same restaurant will be hosting the Victory Brunch on Sunday, February 27th (the day after the Mr. San Diego Leather Contest) from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This is a brief blurb that I wrote elsewhere:
