This weekend's Mr. San Diego Leather Contest was a pleasure for me - TIRING, but a peak experience. My longtime personal dream of seeing the five contestants bond together as brothers came true. That dream emerged when I saw the four contestants for Ms. San Diego Leather contest be so sincere and loving with each other. I knew then that the pattern for the future was set, and I will gladly work toward supporting future contestants in that same dream.
What you saw on stage was the real thing - We really did support each other without hesitation. Our Den Mommy Michele and our Den Daddy Jake broke the ice for us, and it was their idea from the first. They expertly and lovingly spoke to us very inspirationally and with open hearts. How could we respond with any less sincerity?
Backstage, we five big men were crammed into a VERY small space, made even smaller by the enormous amounts of leather and fetish gear (many cows died for the sake of that event!) My four sets of big-ass fetish boots took up more than my allotted space, all by themselves.
Despite the crowding and the chilly breezes (thanks for the heater - It really helped!), we never bickered. We massaged oil onto each other, hugged, chatted and laughed, briefly peeked at each others' naked flesh with pleasure, inspected each others' gear, and adjusted straps and laces for each other. It's hard work to be this good-looking! Every once in a while, real tenderness and intimacy came through, and just the right amount.
None of the five were distant or out-of-sync. We all had our mutual care in mind. I deeply respect each man that shared that experience with me. The tension grew to be intolerable after the first few hours, but none of it was directed at each other. I couldn't have asked for a classier group of men to share a peak life-experience. Thanks again, my brothers, and thanks to our sisters for setting the bar so high. It worked.
Mark Chipman, our new Mr. San Diego Leather, is the real thing. He is a brave, good man with a big heart. He deserves his title, and he will get all support from me.
