My favorite images, plus a few extras:
Here are the winners of the International Mr. Leather 2001
contest in
Chicago - From left to right:
Second Runner Up: Houston Davenport, Mr. San Francisco Leather
2001.
International Mr. Leather 2001, Stefan Mueller, Bavarian Mr. Leather 2001.
First Runner Up: Darrell Moyers, Mr. DC Eagle 2001.
Here they are again, with International Ms. Leather 2000,
Jo Blas of San Diego.
Speaking of San Diego, here is our local hero and representative
at IML,
Mr. San Diego Leather 2001, Lou Sedlacek:
Lou was an excellent contestant who made us proud. He
was calm, majestic, powerful, articulate and a true gentleman.
We are fortunate indeed to have him come back to San Diego and do the good
work that he does!
Many of the folks from San Diego (and some wonderful folks
from elsewhere) attended the first annual "San Diego Brunch" on Saturday the
26th of May, 2001:
These are the best kind of friends to have - they went
all of the way to Chicago to be the wind beneath our contestants' wings!
Here is what the Palmer House Hilton (host hotel for the IML festivities)
looks like from the top of the Sears Tower. It's the old, brick building in
the center of the photo, with three sections. It looks MUCH better inside.
Very swank.
This is what the lobby looked like at the host hotel, all day and all night.
There's a slight haze in the air caused by testosterone and sexual tension.
Super cruisy! Click the picture to see a larger version, and try to see how
many San Diegans are visible. I see at least seven, out of the seventy
or so who attended IML 2001 weekend in Chicago!
More pictures are on the way - I will be posting hundreds more of the best
photos online as soon as I can, with a simple, click-and view format in about
a week. I have 1,244 photos of my own, taking up 498 megabytes so far,
and I will need to perform digital post-production upon all of them before
I'm done. There are three other photographers who will be generously
contributing to the project as well, and as soon as their photos arrive I'll
stir them into the mix. It may take a month before the process is complete.
